MHSAA announces 2022 playoff pairings, West Michigan teams selected

EAST LANSING, Mich. — MHSAA announcing the pairings for the 2022 MHSAA Football Playoffs, which begin October 28-29 with District Semifinals for 11- and 8-player teams.

The top 32 teams in each division of the 11-player teams and top 16 per division of the 8-player teams were selected.

Qualifiers were then divided into four regions with eight teams each for the 11-player teams, and four regions with four teams each for the 8-player teams.

The top-seeded team in each bracket will host the fourth-seeded team, and the second-seeded team will host the third seeded-team.

District Finals for 11-player teams and Regional Finals for 8-player teams will be held the weekend of November 4-5.

Regional Finals for 11-Player team Playoffs and Semifinals in the 8-Player team playoffs will be held the weekend of November 11-12.

Semifinals in the 11-Player team Playoffs will be held the weekend of November 18-19.

The 11-player team Finals will be played at Ford Field in Detroit on November 25-26. An all-day ticket costs $20 and includes admission to that day's four games.

The 8-player team Finals will be played at Northern Michigan University's Superior Dome in Marquette on November 25-26. An all-day ticket costs $10 and includes admission to both games.

All playoff tickets except for Finals (both 11- and 8-player) will be sold online only via GoFan to provide for a cashless and contactless purchasing process.
