WMU football hosting fan fest Saturday, taking donations for First Day Shoe Fund
KALAMAZOO, Mich. —
Football season is back and the Western Michigan University Broncos are more than prepared. The university’s athletics department is hosting their second annual Fan Fest on Saturday to get everyone excited about their first scrimmage of the season.
Fan Fest runs from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Waldo Stadium. There will be activities for all ages, including sports challenges with WMU athletes, inflatable games, autographs and more.
On Friday night, things are kicking off with Broncos Night Out. There will be an outdoor tailgate at Heritage Hall starting at 8 p.m. with a showing of Ghostbusters for free live on the big screen at 9:15 p.m.
While admission to Fan Fest on Saturday is free, fans are being asked to bring a new pair of children's athletic shoes for the First Day Shoe Fund, which provides new shoes to school-aged children in need in Kalamazoo County.
You can drop off a new pair of athletic shoes at gate one and in lot 10 during tomorrow's Fan Fest.
