PORTAGE, Mich. — In a doubleheader where runs were hard to come by, Gull Lake managed to get just enough both times to come away with a clean sweep over Portage Central Wednesday from the home of the Mustangs.
Gull Lake took Game 1 1-0 before winning Game 2 by a final of 4-3.
In the nightcap, the visitors took an early 1-0 lead before the home squad responded to make it 1-1 after the first inning. In the second, the Mustangs took the lead off of a Lewie Wilks RBI single to score Sidney Schero.
Gull Lake reclaimed the lead in the third with a two run inning, thanks to an RBI triple by Tess Barnabee.
Kylie Arnold provided the big hit for the Blue Devils, sending a double to the wall in leftfield to bring Allie Money home to score the game-winning run in the sixth. Money scored two runs in the game.
In Game 1, Ava Coffinger scored the game's only run in the sixth inning to claim the win.
