LANSING, Mich., (WPBN/WGTU) -- Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer has been named co-chair of President Biden's reelection campaign, the governor's office told political reporter Rachel Louise Just.

Biden formally announced his reelection campaign on Tuesday, exactly four years after he announced his candidacy for the 2020 election.

Gov. Whitmer previously served as co-chair of Biden's inauguration committee.

Biden had also considered Gov. Whitmer to run for Vice President in 2020, a position that ultimately went to Kamala Harris.
