9,000 barrels of bourbon on the ground after rackhouse collapse
BARDSTOWN, Ky. —
Clean-up is underway in Kentucky after the partial collapse of a distillery warehouse sent thousands of barrels of bourbon tumbling down a hillside.
The Barton 1792 Distillery holds about 20,000 barrels, but only 9,000 were affected by the collapse.
No word on what caused the collapse and no one was hurt.
A nearby creek prompted the Environmental Protection Agency to be called to see if alcohol made it into the water, but all samples came back clean.
