'Wizard of Oz' named most influential film of all time, in Italian researchers' algorithm
After examining about 47,000 films, Italian researchers have created a list of the most influential of all time.
The researchers used an algorithm to determine how many times each movie has been referenced in other films, or remade.
The Top 10 begins with "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" in 10th place.
"Frankenstein," "The Birth of a Nation," "Citizen Kane," and "Metropolis" are next.
Number five is "2001, a Space Odyssey," followed by "King Kong," "Psycho," and "Star Wars."
And number one: "The Wizard of Oz."
