BLOOMFIELD HILLS, Mich. — Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel, who is from Michigan, and Michigan GOP Chairwoman Lura Cox called on state officials to open up the ballot counting in Michigan.
During a news conference in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan the two outlined what they called counting irregularities in the Detroit metro area, including what they called back-dating ballots, and vowed to pursue an investigation of the process.
McDaniel also said that poll watchers from the Republican Party were denied access to the tabulation work in some precincts.
President Donald Trump's campaign filed a lawsuit in the Michigan Court of Claims on Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2020, asking to halt counting in the state.
A day later, a Michigan judge dismissed the suit.
Judge Cynthia Stephens with the Michigan Court of Claims said the Secretary of State provides direction to local officials and told officials to give access when counting the ballots. The judge challenged the suit filed saying, "At best what I have is a hearsay affidavit."
