CDC reports widespread influenza activity in 49 states
The Center for Disease Control is reporting widespread influenza activity in 49 states along with local activity in both District of Columbia and Hawaii.
In the second week of influenza activity reports of the year, the state of Hawaii shows the only change after demoting their reports from regional activity to local only.
In the most recent report from the CDC, there have been 30 reported influenza-associated pediatric deaths in the 2017-18 flu season thus far.
Although the activity reported indicates geographical spread, it does not designate the severity of each report.
