The Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA), recommended on Tuesday that the Medical Marijuana Licensing Board allows temporarily operating marijuana facilities to reopen without repercussions.

The proposal could impact temporarily operating facilities, licensed provisioning centers and licensed growers or processors.

“We have heard from Michiganders closely affected by the ongoing transition to licensed marijuana facilities,” said Gov. Gretchen Whitmer. “It is important that we ensure that patients have access to their medicine while the medical marijuana industry continues to develop.”

The organizations will meet on Wednesday to discuss the issue.
