Woman killed in snowmobiling accident in Berrien County

A woman is killed after being thrown from a snowmobile in Berrien County.

BERRIEN COUNTY, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Michigan State Police are investigating after a woman dies in a snowmobiling accident in Berrien County.

It happened just after 1:30 a.m. Saturday morning on Carmody Road in Hagar Township.

When police made it to the scene, they found the 43-year-old woman dead on the scene after she was thrown from the snowmobile, suffering a fatal head injury.

Police said the driver of the snowmobile, a 41-year-old man, was taken to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo in serious but stable condition.

MSP said it appears alcohol may be a factor.

Right now, the names of the victims are being withheld pending family notification.
