UPDATED: Woman abducted, assaulted near Aquinas College

Police are searching for a suspect accused of abducting and assaulting a woman near Aquinas College in Grand Rapids.

The Grand Rapids Police Department is investigating a report of an abduction and criminal sexual assault that took place Friday around 9 p.m.

The victim reported she was taken against her will near Aquinas College. The 19-year-old woman advised officers that she was walking when a black 4-door sedan, with tinted windows approached. The suspect got out of the vehicle, approached the victim and then forced her inside.

The suspect drove the victim to an unknown location and sexually assaulted her. The victim eventually escaped, called for a ride and later contacted police. Detectives are in the process of attempting to locate the exact location of the abduction and criminal sexual conduct.

The suspect is described as a middle-aged, Indian or Middle Eastern man. He had salt and pepper hair with facial hair including a long goatee. His vehicle is described as a black, 4-door sedan with tinted windows, a leather interior with orange/reddish display lights, and clothes littered throughout the back seat.
