Warrant issued for suspect in Van Buren County homicide investigation
GOBLES, Mich. —
A warrant issued for a suspect of a homicide investigation in Van Buren County.
Troy Lee Taylor, 38, is wanted in connection with the death of Timothy Arthur Henley, 40, after he died of a gunshot wound Thursday night near Gobles.
Investigators are still on the hunt for Taylor. They believe he is armed and dangerous. He was last seen in an early 2000s silver BMW.
Investigators are now following several leads towards the accused killers arrest.
Mary Ann Menck, lives near crime scene, said, “It just shows that it could happen to anybody at any time. And so, we have to be careful, we have to watch out for ourselves and our neighbors.”
Police said the deadly shooting in the front yard of a Pine Grove Township home started after an argument between the two men.
Menck said, “I do remember hearing a shot after 10 and wondering what was going on but never considering it was anything bad.”
Van Buren County Sheriff Cpt. Virg Franks said the two men knew each other.
Franks said, "Asking Troy Taylor turn yourself in peacefully."
People who live in the area said they don't know what brought the violence to their neighborhood, but will be watching to help keep it out of their homes.
Menck said, “I will make sure when I walk in the door I turn around and lock it every time because you don't know when something like this is going to happen.”
Franks said the sheriff’s office and investigators are confident Taylor will be found and brought to justice.
