A West Michigan based company took swift action after a text message exchange between two employees went viral.

Crystal Fisher said her 18-year-old son Jason is on life support at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital in Ann Arbor.

She originally rushed him to Oaklawn Hospital on Thursday, but Jason was moved to Ann Arbor by Thursday night. Fisher said since that time she has been on a roller coaster of emotions.

Fisher said, “They wouldn’t let me in the room. I didn’t know what was going on, how my son was or nothing. Finally, a doctor came out and said they had to put him on life-support.”

She said doctors believe Jason has cellulitis sepsis, but they still do not have the answers.

She said she texted her manager at PS Food Mart in Albion to let her know what was going on, but she said her manager was less than sympathetic.

Below is the text message exchange that Fisher said she had with her manager:

Her manager texted, “If you can’t come to work that you quitting.”

In later messages, she texts, “I’ve been more than accommodating during this allowing schedule changes and such. There is no reason you can’t work and I will not tolerate drama.”

“This manager that talked to me the way she did and had no compassion or sympathy at all and my sons on life-support,” Fisher said. “This is his life were talking about, he’s not just in the hospital sick, he’s on life-support.”

PS Food Mart reached out to Fisher expressing their sympathies. The company also took to Facebook:

PS Food Mart fired that manager. We tried to speak with her Monday afternoon, but she had nothing to say to us.

As for Fisher, she has one message for her former boss.

She said, “I pray for you, I pray for you. That’s all I can say.”

Fisher says she enjoys working for PS Food Mart and has no ill feelings toward the company. She is glad they are standing behind her.

According to PS Food Mart, the manager was fired as of Monday morning:
