U.S. Secretary of Agriculture talking to Michigan farmers about tariffs and other concerns
COLDWATER, Mich. —
U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Sonny Perdue is in Michigan as he kicks off his "Back to our Roots" RV tour across the Midwest.
Perdue was in Coldwater, Michigan, on Tuesday to visit the Clemens pork processing plant.
He will be hosting discussions with local farmers, business owners and community leaders to hear ideas and concerns, including the worries over retaliation from other countries over tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump.
Many have said such retaliation could impact the agricultural industry in Michigan.
Purdue visited Michigan State University on Tuesday morning. Later he was scheduled to tour the Mastro-Nardi produce plant in Coldwater.
