Treehouse Foods to close in 2019, approximately 80 jobs to be cut

    A Battle Creek cereal plant is set to close its doors in the third quarter of 2019, resulting in the loss of approximately 80 jobs, a spokesperson for the company said Tuesday.

    Treehouse Foods, Inc. is set to close around June 2019, affecting approximately 84 jobs, according to spokesperson Brian Pitts. The news comes after 100 jobs were cut from the same plant in Nov. 2017 after Treehouse Foods, Inc. purchased ConAgra Foods.

    Pitts said employees will be given the opportunity to apply for jobs at other plants prior to plant's closure.

    Treehouse Foods, Inc. is set to host their fourth quarter earning results conference on Thursday, Feb. 14.
