PORTAGE, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Construction crews working all night long will continue to have Westnedge Avenue down to one lane in Portage Thursday morning.

The work began at 12 a.m. Thursday and will continue to 8 a.m. at South Westnedge Avenue at JL Hudson Drive.

Crews are reconstructing the storm sewer system near the entrance to the mall.

There is one lane open in each direction, but access is limited and there are flag control operators out directing traffic.

This is part of a larger construction project that has already caused serious traffic backups in the area.
