Town hall Monday to discuss impact of Sturgis Hospital closures, job cuts
STURGIS, Mich. - The Michigan Nurses Association will take a closer look Monday at the impact of closures and potential job cuts at Sturgis Hospital.
The hospital announced plans to close the birthing center and hospice care programs last week. As many as 60 full-time positions could be cut. Sturgis Hospital's CEO said financial challenges forced the decision.
The Michigan Nurses Association and state Rep. Aaron Miller want to talk about what the cuts will mean for the community.
The group will host a town hall Monday at 7 p.m. at Eastwood School on Franks Avenue in Sturgis.
