Towing companies spent the night gassing up their trucks, checking their tires and making sure everything under the hood is good to go.

T&J Towing in Kalamazoo is expecting to be incredibly busy with crashes and slide-offs all day Friday.

T&J Towing owner Joseph Bird said, “The way it's sounding from Keith Thompson and listening to Jeff in the morning, it seems like this will be about a 9. It seems like something we're not really ready to deal with, but we're going to have to deal with."

Last week, there were almost 30 cars involved in a pileup on Interstate 94 Westbound near Hartford.

Tow drivers say if you get into a crash or end up in a ditch, stay in your car, stay warm and off the road until someone can come get you.
