Suicide tops tips submitted to OK2Say student safety initiative in November

LANSING, Mich. - Suicide tops the list of tips submitted to Michigan's program to keep students safer in school.

Attorney General Bill Schuette released Novemer's data from the OK2SAY tip line.

The top tips of the 686 total submitted include:

  1. Suicide – 174 tips
  2. Bullying – 121 Tips
  3. Other (e.g., anxiety, stress, depression, harassment)
  4. Drugs – 60 tips
  5. Self-Harm – 46 tips

A number of West Michigan schools participate in the OK2SAY program. The student safety initiative is open to districts across the state, serving students in grades K-12.
