HOLLAND — Three people are being treated at a Holland hospital after a residential near the 130 block of West 19th Street left six injured.
There were five people in the house at the time of the fire, officials said. Three had serious injuries including smoke inhalation and burns. The other two were treated for smoke inhalation at the scene.
A man who helped rescue those in the house was also treated on scene for sustained smoke inhalation and a hand laceration.
Holland Fire Department firefighters were dispatched to at 9:05 a.m., and stayed on scene until 2:30 p.m.
Public safety officials said the firefighters were challenged by a roof collapse that resulted in a hidden fire. The home is a total loss.
The Holland Fire Department is still investigating the fire. They believe the cause is accidental in nature.
