Second wettest year in 123 years for the state of Michigan

The National Centers for Environmental Information released this map on statewide precipitation from October 2017 to September 2018 and how it ranked. Michigan had the second wettest year out of 123 years. (WWMT/Randi Burns)

The National Centers for Environmental Information released the previous 12 months statewide precipitation ranks for the entire country.

Michigan had the second wettest year measuring from October 2017 to September 2018.

The state of Utah had the record driest year, while Ohio and West Virginia had their record wettest.

Kalamazoo also had an abundance of precipitation.

On average, Kalamazoo receives an average of 37.53 inches of precipitation from October through September.

From October 2017 through September 2018, Kalamazoo had 48.64 inches of precipitation, which is over 11 inches more than normal.
