KALAMAZOO, Mich. — One of the season's largest predicted snowfalls began blanketing West Michigan Sunday evening, and schools across the area phoned in Monday's session in expectation of severe road conditions during the morning commute.
In the midst of a winter weather advisory and winter storm warning, numerous institutions cancelled gatherings to start their week. In addition to a possible snowfall over 6 inches in some areas Sunday night, Newschannel 3's weather team expected to break several frigid records, dropping to what feels like 20 below zero on Tuesday.
The closed districts throughout the area are currently, but not limited to, Ionia Public Schools, Hastings Area Schools and Comstock Park Public Schools. For a full list of closings, visit our link here.
