Crews finished repairs at a sanitary lift station in Parchment after a sewer overflowed about 100 gallons of material Sunday.

City officials said the sanitary sewage overflowed from a manhole located on the 600 block of Haymac Drive. Public service investigators said it was cause by equipment failure from the sanitary lift station.

Staff stopped the overflow around 5:50 p.m. Sunday, July 12, 2020.

They finished repairs and notified the Michigan Department of Environmental, Great Lakes and Energy at the Kalamazoo District Office and the Kalamazoo County Environmental Health Unit of the spill.
