RICHLAND, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - The Richland Police Department is now home to a new memorial in honor of fallen Wayne State Police Sergeant Collin Rose.
Collin's family and other members of the community got a look at the new tribute for the Gull Lake graduate, who was killed near WSU last November.
It includes a plaque, funded by the Richland Rotary, and a flagpole that was a part of the Collin Rose Memorial Run this past July 4th.
An organizer for the run says it's important to honor Collin as a hometown hero, and honor the sacrifice all law enforcement makes for their communities.
Rose Run organizers say additional funds raised through the July 4th event will go toward a first responder scholarship through Gull Lake High School, and special equipment and training for K-9 officers.
