Reptile Weekend comes to Binder Park Zoo

Reptile Weekend comes to Binder Park Zoo.

Reptile enthusiasts slithered into West Michigan today for a weekend full of their favorite creatures.

It was reptile weekend at battle creek's binder park zoo.

Folks got an up close look at over 100 different reptiles and amphibians from around the world.

This weekend was all about showing how important the slithery creatures are to our environment.

"People tend to be afraid of a lot of these things because of a lot of different myths about them, and what we try to dispell is that these creatures all serve a purpose, they all serve the ecosytem, and they're very unique,” said Sean Murphy, a herpetologist at Binder Park Zoo. “There is nothing to be afraid of."

Reptile Weekend is one of the largest of its kind events in Michigan.
