Postal Service extends delivery suspension for parts of Michigan

    ***UPDATE*** The United State Postal Service has temporarily suspended delivery, collections and pick up services throughout the state of Michigan for Wednesday and Thursday of this week.

    However, most post office retail operations will be open.


    The U.S. Postal service has suspended delivery for most of Mid-Michigan on Wednesday.

    The USPS says due to this arctic outbreak and concerns for the safety of USPS employees, they are suspending delivery Jan. 30 in the following 3-digit ZIP Code locations: 486-491, 493-499

    Detroit codes of 480-485 also include parts of our viewing area as well.

    Some of those ZIP codes include areas of Flint, Saginaw, Bay City, Kalamazoo, Grand Rapids, Battle Creek and Muskegon.

    Wind chills in some states could reach -60 wind.
