Portage Public Safety responded to an armed robbery report after a man was robbed while trying to buy shoes from a Facebook post.

The man told police he read a Facebook post selling a pair of tennis shoes in Portage and contacted the local seller. He drove to the 2400 block of Falcon Court around 12:35 p.m. Tuesday and when he arrived a light brown-skinned man in his mid-20's got into the vehicle with him.

The victim said he had a brief discussion with the man wearing a camouflage hoodie and light blue jeans. The man then pulled a chrome semi-automatic pistol and demanded money. He took off with the victim's money and iPhone.

Police said the suspect had a nose shaped like it had been broken in the past.

    The victim was not injured.
