Police: Two attempted abductions believed to be unrelated

After further investigation, the Battle Creek Police Department believe the two attempted abductions in the area are not connected. (Courtest of the Battle Creek Police Department)

After further investigation, the Battle Creek Police Department believe the two attempted abductions in the area are not connected.

Police re-interviewed the victim and witnesses connected to Thursday's incident and concluded the incident was not an attempted abduction.

Rather, police are investigating it as an assault, as the female victim did not feel the man she had encountered was trying to pull her into the woods.

Police said they are still investigating the incident and seeking anyone who may have information.

The Battle Creek Police Department is still searching for the person driving the car in a picture released Thursday by the department.

The vehicle was last seen driving east on East Minges Road toward Riverside Drive and then turned left to go northbound on Minges Forest Lane. The car then turned back on East Minges Road before turning left on Riverside Drive.

Anyone in the area is asked to contact the Battle Creek Police Department.
