Officers with the Holland Department of Public Safety are asking for the public’s help tracking down the people who tried to lure a Hope College student into their vehicle late Saturday, Oct. 13.

Officials report the girl was walking back to student housing from a house on East 14th Street and Lincoln Avenue when a black SUV with four people inside pulled next to her and yelled at her to get in.

When she said no, three of the four people got out of the vehicle, threatened her and tried to grab her arm. She got away after hitting two of the suspects.

Police have released suspect descriptions of two of the four suspects. The first is being described as a white male, approximately 20-years-old between 5-foot-10 and 6-foot with a skinny build and medium length brown hair wearing a black hoodie and blue jeans.

The second is a white male with a bigger build with a “slight gut,” approximately 6-foot-1 with short brown hair and a large nose wearing a blue tee shirt with white graffiti on it and black Adidas track pants.

As police look to track down the suspects, all students are reminded to never walk alone at night.
