UPDATE: Three suspects arrested in connection to shooting in Kalamazoo

    Kalamazoo Public Safety is looking for suspects accused of shooting and injuring two people before taking off (WWMT/MGN Online).

    KALAMAZOO, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Three people are in custody in connection to a shooting in Kalamazoo.

    Officers responded to a report of shots fired on Riverview Drive near Gull Road just before 10:00 p.m. Sunday night.

    They found a 17-year-old and 18-year-old, both Kalamazoo residents, with gunshot wounds but they are expected to be okay.

    Police later found the suspects' car in the area of Davis Street and Wheaton Avenue.

    After a short chase, the suspects crashed.

    One person was arrested but two others ran off.

    Multiple departments were searching for the suspects including Michigan State Police, The Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Office and Western Michigan University.

    They were eventually caught and all three suspects are now in custody.

    Police say there is no danger to the public.
