Police identify Lake Michigan drowning victim

PARK TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Ottawa County Sheriff's Office identified the victim who drowned in Lake Michigan on Saturday.

He has been identified as Steven Scott Davis, 43, of Holland Township. Police said he died near the 3300 block of Lakeshore Drive in Park Township at about 4:40 p.m. on Saturday, July 27, 2019.

Beachgoers pulled him out of the water and to the shore, after he was seen face down in the surf, police said.

The National Weather Service reported three to five foot waves, an undertow and 20 to 30 mph winds.
