Constantine Police are currently searching for two individuals who are suspected of robbing a group of card players at Whispering Pines II Mobile Home Park, pistol whipping one while stealing cash, wallets and cell phones around 8:55 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9.

Officers from the Constantine Police Department responded to an emergency call claiming that someone had entered a residence near the 1200 block of South Washington and shot one of the victims. Upon response from police, they found six to seven individuals inside a trailer, one of which had suffered from a head injury. A brief investigation determined the wound was from being pistol whipped rather than a gunshot.

Through an interview with the suspects, which was assisted by a Spanish-speaking officer with Constantine PD due to a language barrier, police learned two suspects wearing Halloween masks entered the trailer armed with handguns. The suspects ordered the victims to get down, and that's when they started stealing contents from their pockets, including phones and wallets.

One of the victims grabbed for a suspect's gun, but the suspect pulled away and pistol whipped him before firing two shots inside the trailer. Nobody was struck by the gunfire.

The victims are describing what appeared to be a dark blue or black Dodge Caravan leaving the scene alongside another white SUV. It is currently unclear if the white SUV was involved in the incident.

Anybody with information on the incident is asked to call the Constantine Police Department right away.
