Plane crash in Watervliet injures two men


WATERVLIET, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A small plane crash at the Watervliet Municipal Airport injured two men in Berrien County on Friday night.

Police said Edward Maloney, 27, Fruitport, and 36-year-old man from Florida suffered serious injuries, but were able to climb out of the plane after the wrecked plane.

Officials say the plane failed to gain enough altitude when it was leaving the airport and crashed into a wooded ravine near the runway.

Both men were taken to the Lakeland Hospital. Their condition is unknown.
