Officials respond to industrial fire in Battle Creek, mutual aid required

    Multiple Battle Creek fire units responded to a structure fire near the intersection of Juniper Street and 4th Street at 12:24 p.m. Monday, spending nearly an hour working to extinguish flames.

    Officials on scene said the flames inside an unoccupied industrial warehouse required several Battle Creek fire units and mutual aid to control. Firefighters spent over 40 minutes on scene working to extinguish and force ventilate the smoke from the building to assess damages.

    The fire remains under investigation.
