Newschannel 3 receives 7 Emmy nominations for news coverage
Newschannel 3 has been honored with seven Emmy nominations for excellence in news coverage.
The nominations were announced Wednesday by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, an organization that fosters excellence in the television broadcasting industry and awards the Emmy Awards in Michigan.
“Everyone here at Newschannel 3 is thrilled to be honored with seven Emmy nominations,” News Director Steve Koles said shortly after the announcement. “We work hard every day to bring the best news coverage to all our viewers in West Michigan.”
The Michigan Emmy represents the most experienced and talented television professionals from all disciplines of the industry and from all of Michigan’s 11 television markets.
The awards will be presented June 16 during the 2018 Emmy Awards event at the MotorCity Sound Board in Detroit.
The nominations include, in the category of continuing coverage:
- Anna Giles, for a story on “School Bus Sexual Abuse”
- Cody Combs, Carter Gent and Walter-Smith Randolph for “Where is Theresa Lockhart?”
