Murder suspect involved in I-94 shootout with police pleads guilty
VAN BUREN CO., Mich. —
An Alabama man accused of killing his mother pleaded guilty to charges connected to a shootout with police on I-94.
Van Buren County Circuit Court said Landon Harbin pleaded guilty to two counts of assault with intent to murder and one count of felony firearm. A second count of felony firearm was dismissed.
Last month, Harbin was pulled over by the Michigan State Police on I-94 near Lawrence, when they spotted him in a stolen car.
Dashcam video showed Harbin getting out of the car and firing shots before he was eventually arrested. No one was hurt but a passing semi-truck was hit with a bullet.
Harbin is expected to be sentenced next month. He's still awaiting extradition to Alabama for the murder of his mother.
