MDOT to host open house for US-131 redesign in Three Rivers
THREE RIVERS, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - You can learn more about a construction project planned for US-131 in Three Rivers.
MDOT will hold an open house to discuss the plans for US-131 from the south junction of M-60 to Rocky River Bridge in Three Rivers.
The project calls for a redesign from the current six-lanes to a boulevard, adding in Michigan left-turn lanes. There are also plans to reconfigure the M-60 interchange. A bike path will also be added on the east side of US-131 and a sidewalk on the west side.
The work is expected to begin in 2019.
MDOT will go over design changes in two formal presentations Tuesday. They will happen at 5:15 and 6 p.m. at the St. Joseph County Commission on Aging Building on South Douglas Avenue in Three Rivers.
