Masked suspect accused in armed robbery at Grand Rapids gas station


GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Deputies launched a search for a suspect accused in an armed robbery at a gas station in Grand Rapids.

It happened at the Citgo Gas Station on Plainfield Avenue northeast around 11:45 p.m. Thursday night.

Deputies said the clerk told them the suspect came into the store wearing a mask over his face, gloves and all black clothing. They said he showed off a pistol and demanded money from the cash register.

The clerk gave the suspect cash.

Deputies said the suspect then ordered the clerk to the floor and took off running.

Grand Rapids Police responded with a K9 officer to track the suspect, but it is believed the suspect got into a car after running.

The suspect is described as a 5'10" man weighing 180 lbs.
