MARHSALL, Mich. — The Joint Planning Commission voted against the zoning changes needed to make the Ford EV battery plant happen, Tuesday night.
In a vote of 4-2, the Joint Planning Commission decided to vote against the zoning request for the Marshall Megasite.
Meanwhile, the Marshall City Council still has power to approve or reject that recommendation by the Joint Planning Commission.
A meeting is scheduled for the Marshall City Council to address the zoning changes, according to officials.
The meeting is expect to be held in the County Board of Commissioners Chambers at 7 p.m. Monday.
Ford expects to create 2,500 jobs and open the factory in 2026, according to the company.
