Man suffers severe brain injury following assault in Grand Rapids
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - A man has been left with a severe brain injury after being jumped while celebrating his 21st birthday in Grand Rapids.
Police say it happened late Saturday night, in a parking lot on Lake Drive SE.
The victim was with his father and two other men, when a man, who appeared to be homeless, asked them for money.
When the victim and his party said no, four men got out of a dark SUV and attacked them before driving away.
The 21-year-old victim was hospitalized for a brain injury, while his father and two others were treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The search for the suspects continues.
