Man dies after crashing into a tree in St. Joseph Co.
CONSTANTINE TWP, Mich. —
Michigan State Police is investigating a fatal traffic crash, after a 49-year-old man was killed in St. Joseph County.
The accident happened around 4:15 p.m. on Youngs Prairie Road near New England Road in Constantine Township.
A 2003 Chevy Malibu - driven by the 49-year-old from Constantine - was being passed by a 1993 Chevrolet Camaro, when the Malibu lost control and struck a tree. The two vehicles did not strike each other, according to MSP.
The Camaro, driven by a 37-year-old man from Three Rivers, also lost control and went into the ditch. No one inside the Camaro sustained any injuries.
The Camaro initially left the scene, but police said the driver did return a short time later.
The accident is still under investigation.
