A man accused in the shooting death of his girlfriend Tuesday was charged with open murder and felony firearms.

Gary Vogt, 58, was arraigned Wednesday in the Calhoun County District Court.

He is accused of shooting and killing his long-term girlfriend, 62-year-old Charlotte Freiny, police said.

The shooting happened after a dispute in their home at North Gardner Avenue early Tuesday morning, according to police.
