A Kalamazoo woman is now charged with a felony after she was accused of running over a man she once dated.

Kalamazoo County District Court records show that two charges were filed against Jessica Marcon, 27, on Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2018. She was charged with reckless driving causing serous impairment of body function, and failing to stop or identify an accident causing serious impairment.

A man she previously dated suffered life-threatening injuries when he was run over Aug. 27, 2018, at a car wash near North Riverview Drive and Brackett Avenue in Cooper Township.

Investigators said the car was driven by a woman who had, had a relationship with the injured man. Deputies said the man was possibly pinned under the vehicle before the driver left the scene.

Five days after the incident, Marcon turned herself in at the Kalamazoo county Sheriff’s Office. She was booked and released. At the time the Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Office said the prosecutor's office was waiting on an update on the former boyfriend’s medical status before approving further charges.
