KALAMAZOO, Mich. — The former Kalamazoo Public Schools superintendent was given a lump sum payment as part of her agreement to resign, according to public records.
The district agreed to pay Rita Raichoudhuri a one-time payment of $225,000, according to the documents.
The district also agreed to pay Raichoudhuri's 23 unused vacation days and COBRA health benefits through May, according to the separation agreement.
The separation agreement went into effect one week ago, just hours before the Board of Education announced Raichoudhuri's departure was a mutual decision.
As a part of the agreement, Raichoudhuri received a letter of recommendation from Board President Patti Sholler-Barber.
Raichoudhuri was hired to be Kalamazoo's superintendent in 2020 after working in Chicago Public Schools.
