Gun safe, weapons, ammunition stolen from Calhoun County home


A suspect stole a gun safe filled with guns, ammunition and other weapons from a Calhoun County home.

It happened at at 4:20 p.m. Thursday at the home on P Drive South in Burlington Township.

Michigan State Police said the suspect stole a large Sentinel gun safe. It was filled with multiple firearms, ammunition and other personal items. The thief also got away with archery equipment and tools from the home.

Troopers said the homeowner was not in the house at the time.

A possible suspect vehicle was seen in that area around the same time the items were stolen. It was described as a black Hummer H3 driving southbound on 12 Mile Road near R Drive South. The driver of the Hummer was described as a white man in his late 20's or early 30's with longer brown hair and possibly wearing a black hat.
