On Thursday Gun Lake Casino broke ground on their $300 million expansion. Officials said it will turn the Wayland Property into a first-class destionation resort.
The resort will feature three indoor pools and a 32-thousand square foot ready entertainment venue being dubbed the "Aquadome." The new venue wiill be kept at 82 degrees year round and will be able to transform to fit different events needs.
The casino is also adding a 15 story on property hotel tower for visitors to stay.
"We're really creating something here, that's a cliché, but that must see destination type resort with that Aquadome it is going to be something very very unique," said Gun Lake Casino CEO, Salvatore Semola. "We are really looking forward to rolling that out and extending our geographic reach as we continue to grow."
Officials said they expect the project to create about 350 jobs.
Construction is expected to begin late May and is set to finished in March of 2025.
