Multiple people sent to hospital after crash along I-94 in Calhoun County

Police are investigating after an overnight rollover crash along I-94 westbound in Calhoun County.

CALHOUN CO., Mich. (NEWSCHANNEL 3) - Right now police are investigating an overnight rollover crash in Calhoun County.

It happened along I-94 westbound in Marshall Township around 3:00 a.m. Sunday morning.

Officers on scene tell us a car hit a deer and pulled over to the side of the road.

Another car with two small children inside then stopped to help when a third vehicle slammed into the back of it.

Deputies said the driver of the second car, a 32-year-old Galesburg woman, and her two children were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.

The driver of the third vehicle, a 21-year-old Kalamazoo woman, was also transported to the hospital in stable condition.

Her passenger was pinned inside the vehicle and had to be freed. That passenger was taken to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo in critical condition.

Crews were reconstructing the scene for several hours, but have since cleared.

Deputies believe speed and alcohol may be factors in this crash but the investigation is ongoing.
