At least six Michigan residents were arrested during the riot in Washington D.C. Wednesday, where supporters of President Donald Trump stormed the U.S. Capitol building, according to the District’s Metropolitan Police Department.

A database of unrest-related arrests shows 82 people have been arrested so far in the riot, most for curfew violation.

D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser ordered a 6 p.m. curfew following the breach of the capitol building.

Metropolitan Police said the following Michigan residents were arrested:

  • Matthew Staley, 44, of Commerce Township, curfew violation
  • Shawn Floyd, 44, of Redford, curfew violation
  • Ryan Williams, 29, of Columbus, curfew violation
  • Micah Femia, 36, of Grand Rapids, curfew violation
  • John Parker, 64, of Monroe, curfew violation, unlawful entry
  • Logan Grimes, 25, of Cadillac, carrying a pistol without a license (outside home or place of business) 2015, possession of a large capacity ammunition feeding device (and), possession of unregistered ammunition

Capitol Police were overwhelmed by protesters who breached the U.S. Capitol while a joint session of Congress met Wednesday to certify the results of the presidential election and affirm President-elect Joe Biden's victory.

The disruption came after a group of Republican senators and representatives objected to the certification of Arizona's electoral votes on the grounds of alleged voter fraud. Republicans were expected to object to the results of up to six states.

Lawmakers, congressional staff and reporters were told to shelter in place. Police reported shots fired in the House Chamber around 2:30 p.m. At least one person was reported injured.
