BATTLE CREEK — Authorities in Calhoun County have found an inmate who escaped their correctional facility early Saturday morning.
The sheriff's office reported inmate worker Edwin Walker left the facility through an emergency exit. Walker was serving a one year sentence for drug offenses.
Authorities said Walker was assigned to a non-secure area of the facility. He left around 4:45 a.m. The kitchen manager notified custody staff with 25 minutes of his departure.
Area police agencies were notified of the walk away and began their search immediately.
He was apprehended later in the morning.
