SPRINGFIELD, Mich. - Calhoun County deputies said a Battle Creek man will face charges after a deputy found a bag of crack cocaine inside his ear during a traffic stop.
A deputy spotted a car speeding down Helmer Road near Harmonia Road around midnight Friday in the city of Springfield.
When the deputy stopped the driver, the sheriff's office said while talking with the 73-year-old man he noticed a bag coming out of the suspect's ear. Deputies later said the man was trying to hide a bag of suspected crack cocaine inside his ear canal.
During the investigation, deputies said the man suffered from an unrelated health issue and had to get treatment.
The sheriff's office is asking for drug possession charges with the Calhoun County Prosecutor's Office.
